The Boao Forum for Asia 2020 conference, scheduled for March 24 to 27 in Boao, a coastal town in China's southern island province of Hainan, will be postponed, according to an announcement on the BFA official website on late Monday.
The sixth Asian Beach Games will be held in the Chinese tropical city of Sanya from Nov 28 to Dec 6, the same schedule as previously planed, according to the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).
Hainan rolled out a special regulation to all checkpoints on March 6 to strengthen COVID-19 prevention and control efforts. It requires those coming to Hainan from countries afflicted by the virus to receive a 14-day quarantine upon their arrival.
