Hainan's launch ceremony of two commemorative stamps marking the 100th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement was held at Qiongtai Normal University in Haikou on May 4.
The May Fourth Movement was a patriotic campaign launched by Chinese youth in 1919 against imperialism and feudalism. As well as propelling the progress of contemporary China, the May Fourth Movement is also seen as the watershed moment of the new and old democratic revolution.
The stamps were issued by China Post with a total nominal value of 2.40 yuan ($0.36).
The activity was jointly sponsored by the Communist Youth League of Hainan Provincial Committee, Qiongtai Normal University, and the Hainan branch of China Post.
