The Hainan International Economic Development Bureau, together with other authorities in Haikou and Sanya, plan to visit Japan from Nov 27 to Dec 11 to carry out investment promotion activities. It is Hainan's first overseas investment promotion group event since the outbreak of COVID-19.

Hainan plans to hold three Free Trade Port investment promotion conferences in Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka, to publicize its FTP policies and drum up new investment opportunities.

Focusing on the four leading industries of Hainan FTP, seven categories of well-known Japanese enterprises were selected for the visit, including comprehensive commercial offices, watchmakers, coffee trade enterprises, fragrant chemical firms, food companies, special vehicle enterprises, and financial institutions.

Hainan will build a demonstration park for Japanese enterprises in Haokou's Meilan district. To date, eight firms, such as Nippon Express and Kintetsu department store, have made clear their intention to settle down on the island.

The planned events will also help Hainan make contact with the governments of various counties and cities in Japan, to promote more new Japanese products and boutiques to enter China through platforms such as the China International Consumer Products Expo.
