Italy to be guest of honor at 2023 CICPE

Italy will be the guest of honor at the 2023 China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE), and all the necessary preparations are in full swing, the Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development said on Nov 17.

That will be the third edition of the CICPE. It will be hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the People's Government of Hainan Province, and is being organized by the Foreign Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce and the Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development.

Hainan is promoting further cooperation with Italy, encouraging more enterprises from the Mediterranean country to participate in the expo, and deepening trade and investment cooperation.

There are many consumer enterprises in Italy to be courted. At the first CICPE held in 2021, over 50 Italian brands participated. While for the event's second edition this year more than 70 Italian brands have joined, covering important consumption fields such as automobiles, clothing, incense, watches, jewelry, alcohol, dairy products, food, and kitchenware.

Participating brands include Ferrari and Maserati; dairy brand Nestle; Panerai, a wristwatch brand owned by Richemont; Damiani, Sergio Rossi, and Caruso under the Fosun Group in the jewelry and apparel category; aromatherapy brands such as Armani Beauty and Prada perfume under L'Oreal Group; as well as Gucci perfume and Miu Miu perfume under the Coty Group.
