Hainan reports 5 new COVID-19 cases

On Sept 19, Hainan reported five new COVID-19 asymptomatic cases, including three in Wanning and two in Sanya, all of which were tested among the personnel in a centralized quarantine.

In this latest round of pandemic, it is the first time that a community level in Wanning reported no increase in daily new cases at the community level. As of Sept 19, 26 cases have been reported in this city. The transmission chain is transparent, the duration and scope of infection are limited, and the risk of exposure is controllable.

Hainan province enforces the principle of "practice vigilance and work with all resilience in the prevention of COVID-19 outbreak" and has coordinated the prevention and control of the epidemic with economic and social development. Version 2.0 of the Action Plan of Hainan Province on Coordinating the Prevention and Control of the Epidemic with Economic Recovery and Boosting and the Special Measures of Hainan Province for Stabilizing the Economy by Alleviating the Difficulties and Boosting the Development of the Enterprises were formulated and implemented to promote the resumption of work and production, as well as the economic recovery, and to minimize the impact of the epidemic on economic and social development.

Next, Hainan will continue to carry out high-quality nucleic acid testing, strengthen the management of medical quarantine facilities and outbound personnel, and ensure disinfection and sterilization of relevant places. The province will also be vigilant about the customs and practices of coastal cities and counties, strengthen pandemic prevention and control measures at coastal ports, and further improve the pandemic prevention and control results.
