Hainan recently launched an exhibition at the Hainan Provincial Local History Museum to showcase the achievements made in its the comprehensive deepening of reform and opening up efforts, as well as the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port with Chinese characteristics. The exhibition will run until 2025.

The exhibition is divided into 11 parts. It uses various display methods, spanning graphics, multimedia, scene restoration, and immersive experiences, to vividly display Hainan's fruitful achievements in the construction of a FTP with Chinese characteristics.

In the aerospace exhibition area, visitors can see models of the series of rockets launched in Hainan, models of the Chang'e 5 lunar probe and the Tianwen-1 Mars probe, as well as the lunar soil brought back by the Chang'e 5 probe. This is the first time that the lunar soil has been exhibited in Hainan.

In the exhibition area of the national ecological civilization experimental zone, visitors can see real scenes from a section of the rainforest located at the source of the Changhua River in Wuzhishan, as well as the unique landscape of tropical rainforests, including roots and boulders, hanging gardens, and giant leaves. Visitors can also hear the chirping of birds and gibbons as they would be in Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park.

The exhibition also exhibits a number of rare objects and installations, including seeds bred by the Hainan Nanfan breeding base, as well as models of the first ultra-deepwater drilling platform Deep Sea No 1 independently developed by China, the manned submersible Deep Sea Warrior, and the manned deep dive Striver. Among them, the Striver's cabin is made in a 1:1 ratio, allowing visitors to intuitively see the scene in the cabin.
