Hainan reported eight new COVID-19 cases and six asymptomatic infections on April 1, according to the Hainan Provincial Health Commission.

There were five COVID-19 cases in Haikou, one case in Sanya, one case in Qionghai, and one case in Lingshui Li autonomous county. The six new local asymptomatic cases were comprised of four cases in Sanya, one case in Haikou, and one case in Qionghai. Among the 14 total cases, nine were detected in the centralized isolation site screening, four were found in the risk group screening, and one case was transferred to a confirmed case from an asymptomatic infection.
In 2022, Hainan province has reported 16 local confirmed cases, including seven in Haikou, four in Sanya, three in Qionghai, one in Lingshu, and one in Wanning. The province has reported 16 local asymptomatic cases, including 10 in Sanya, two in Haikou, one in Qionghai, one in Chengmai county, one in Wanning, as well as one in Qiongzhong Li and Miao autonomous county. In addition, there were one imported asymptomatic case, which was reported by Qionghai.
