The Sanya Office of the Shanghai English Education and Teaching Research Base (SCRELE) held its unveiling ceremony at the Sanya Foreign Language School Affiliated to Shanghai International Studies University on Jan 22.
Wu Ping, director of the Sanya education bureau, said that after the establishment of the Sanya office, it will actively carry out policy interpretation, teacher training, teaching materials and teaching resources construction, focus on improving the professional quality of English teachers, and create efficient English classes so that children in Sanya can enjoy high-quality English education.
At the same time, the National Basic Education of Foreign Language Sanya Forum (2022) was held, inviting domestic experts to share the latest educational views and measures in the education sector. The forum will be held annually in the future.
An official of the Hainan Provincial Department of Education said that the Sanya office is an important platform for improving the level of English education and teaching in Sanya and even Hainan and it is also an important part of serving Hainan's basic talents training and foreign language ability training.
