The fifth session of the 7th Hainan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opened in Haikou on Jan 20. The proposals of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the CCPCC members focused on people's livelihood proposals, covering transportation, education, rural revitalization, pension and medical care, as well as food safety.

In recent years, Hainan has introduced a series of measures to promote new energy vehicles (NEVs), and the proportion of Hainan's NEVs holdings ranks in the forefront of the country. Wang Yunxia, a member of the Hainan Provincial Committee, noted that the current number and layout of front charging piles for NEVs in Hainan cannot meet charging needs. She suggested that relevant support and incentive policies be introduced to encourage properties to install public charging piles in the community and cooperate with owners to install personal charging piles.

Since the implementation of the "double reduction" education policy, many parents have worried about the decline of their children's grades. Chen Dongxia, a member of the Hainan  Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, suggested that the publicity and guidance of the "double reduction" policy should be strengthened to actively respond to students' demands and to alleviate parents' anxieties. In addition, it is necessary to promote the reform of classroom education and teaching methods, improve the reform of the education evaluation system, as well as provide teachers with a comfortable and positive working environment.

"Rural roads are one of the most important infrastructures to ensure and promote rural revitalization, the construction of beautiful villages. and the development of all-for-one tourism," Fu Qiongfen, a member of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, said. Fu suggested that investments in rural road construction should increase and that the standards of rural roads in Hainan should improve.

Ye Xia suggested giving full play to the power of charity to participate in the construction of pension undertakings. Wang Xiya suggested that the government should establish a medical data center and medical information service cloud platform. Wang Lan suggested the introduction of specific policies to support the establishment of a modern pig breeding system and a modern pig management system, in order to improve the safety and quality of pork.
