Last year, Yangpu Port registered 30 international ships with a registered total tonnage increase from 670,000 in 2018 to 5.5 million this year. This ranks it third in the top international ship tonnage in China as reported by Hainan Maritime Safety Administration on Jan 18.

In 2021, Hainan Maritime Safety Administration issued supporting work regulations, service guidelines, and format texts for international ship registration in the free trade port. It also completed the registration of the first "zero-tariff" imported ship. During the past year, a total of 36,000 government affairs were handled by the administration and the overall settlement time was shortened by an average of 84 percent.

It deepened the maritime supervision measures for ship bonded oil with 420 bonded oil bunkering operations were supervised and a total bunkering volume of 217,500 metric tons, a year-on-year increase of 158 percent and 113 percent respectively.
