The 2021 Yazhou Ancient City Cultural Festival will kick off on Oct 29, according to the Sanya tourism promotion bureau. The three-day event will organize various activities to meet the different needs of young travelers, families and local citizens.
An International Summit Forum on Integrated Development of Culture and Tourism will be held on Oct 29. Experts and enterprise representatives from the cultural and tourism industry at home and abroad will gather in Yazhou to share their experiences and put forward suggestions for the cultural tourism development in Yazhou Ancient City as well as in Sanya.
Organizers will invite intangible cultural heritage inheritors, teach tourists to sing folk songs and publicize the national intangible cultural heritage of Yazhou folk songs.
The event will also invite Guochao experts and models to perform a Hanfu show, and showcase Yazhou Guochao that aligns with the artistic tastes of young people. This show will be held at 8 pm on Oct 29.
This event will focus on promoting Baoping village in Yazhou Ancient City. Baoping village is still well preserved with a large number of ancient houses from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, which are the most representative and concentrated ancient residential complexes in Yazhou. The development of Baoping village has become a model in Sanya for promoting the revitalization of tourism villages.
