China will hold the 87th International Forum on China Reform with the theme of "Building a New Development Pattern of China and the World" on Oct 30 and 31 in Haikou, capital of Hainan province.

On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, the China Institute for Reform and Development (CIRD) will cooperate with the Bank of China, China Daily and the China Public Diplomacy Association to organize the forum, inviting domestic and foreign experts and scholars to make suggestions for comprehensively deepening reform and opening-up.

Facing the profound and complex changes in the world's economic and political landscape, China is accelerating the construction of the dual circulation development pattern, which establishes domestic circulation as the mainstay while domestic and international circulation reinforce each other.

The forum's topics will include China's construction of a new development pattern and its impact on the world economy, international economic and financial trends under major changes, comprehensive deepening reform and opening-up under a new development pattern, China's opening-up trend and its impact on the world economy, the trend of major power relations, and policies and institutional arrangements for an aging society.

It will also set up some special seminars with themes such as "Hainan Free Trade Port Policy and System Innovation," "Blue Economy and Sustainable Development," "China-ASEAN Economic and Trade Cooperation in the Post-epidemic Era" and "Opening-up of Northeast China under the New Development Pattern."
