The Sanya bonded logistics center (B type), the first one of its kind in Hainan province, passed the acceptance test on Sept 23, and it is expected to be put into operation in the fourth quarter of this year.
The center is located in the west of the cargo terminal at Sanya Phoenix International Airport, and covers an area of 49,096 square meters and a combined floorage of 27,198.87 sq m, including the No 1 and No 2 logistics centers, a comprehensive office building, and an open yard.

The No 1 logistics center is equipped with a 2,400 sq m cold chain warehouse, which can provide cold chain storage services for imported chilled products, and the No 2 logistics center contains the customs inspection area, which can do on-site inspections of goods.
According to Chen Zhen, head of the joint acceptance group and deputy director of Haikou Customs, the opening of the bonded logistics center can further optimize the layout of special customs supervision areas and bonded supervision places in the province, and will support the future development of cross-border e-commerce and duty-free offshore trade.
It will also play a positive role in reducing the logistics costs for enterprises, relieve the financial stress of enterprises, and promote the local export-oriented economic development, Chen said.
