Representatives from Japan External Trade Organization's (JETRO) Guangzhou and Shanghai offices visited Hainan on Sept 23 to promote Japanese enterprises' investment in Hainan as well as participation in the second China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE).
The Hainan International Business Council introduced the preferential policies of the Hainan Free Trade Port, investment opportunities in key industries, and the second CICPE at the conference.
The two sides reached a consensus to establish a long-term liaison mechanism. JETRO is optimistic about the development potential of the Hainan FTP, and will encourage more Japanese enterprises to invest in the island province by relying on FTP's preferential policies and investment opportunities.
The first CICPE was well received by 19 Japan exhibitors. Japan will double their exhibition area, and offer food and wine at the second edition next year, the head of JETRO said.
