Hainan issues notice to strengthen COVID-19 prevention, control

In order to strengthen the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic from overseas and epidemic-related areas, the Hainan COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control Work Headquarters issued a notice on Sept 12.

People come to Hainan from foreign countries should strictly implement the health management measures, that is, quarantine with medical observation for 14 days, and undergo seven days of home health monitoring and seven days of self-health monitoring. During the 14-day quarantine period, nucleic acid testing should be carried out on the first, seventh and 13th days, and during the seven-day home health monitoring period, nucleic acid testing should be carried out on the second and seventh days. During the seven-day self-health monitoring period, nucleic acid testing should be carried out on the seventh day.

Those who have visited high-risk areas such as Putian, Fujian province within the past 14 days should conduct an intensive medical observation for 14 days after entering Hainan, undergo health monitoring for seven days at home, and carry out nucleic acid testing as required.

Those who have lived or travelled in the cities with mid- or high-risk areas within the past 14 days can enter the island with a certificate of two negative nucleic acid tests taken within 48 hours prior to arrival. Those who do not hold a negative certificate shall take a nucleic acid test at the ports after arriving in Hainan.

Children with relatives having lived abroad within 28 days must provide a certificate of a negative nucleic acid test within 48 hours prior to continuing their study at kindergartens and schools.
