Hainan opens 86 new schools, kindergartens

For this year's first school semester, 70 kindergartens, 12 compulsory education schools, and four regular high schools have been recently built and opened in Hainan province, and fulfilled its quota of totaling 42,000 new enrollments.

According to Han Xiaoyu, director of the Basic Education Division of the Hainan Provincial Department of Education, in the past year, Hainan has actively formulated education development layout plans for primary and secondary schools as well as built and renovated a number of kindergartens, and primary and secondary schools to alleviate the lack of enrollment quotas caused by the adjustment of the household registration policy and introducing talents.

Han added that, especially in Sanya city, Haikou city and Chengmai county, more than 5,000 new enrollment quotas have been added, which provides a guarantee for improving the business environment, attracting high-level talents to settle down, and improve the satisfaction of education.

In the fall semester of 2021, basic education in Hainan province has not only improved the number of kindergartens and schools, but has also enhanced the quality of education. There are 13 high-quality educational resource introduction projects among the newly added kindergartens and schools.
