Hainan adopts stricter measures to curb COVID-19 spread

ehainan.gov.cn | Updated: 2021-08-02

Hainan has strengthened its epidemic prevention and control measures as more and more COVID-19 cases have been reported throughout the country.

All the travelers to Hainan are required to present a green health code and a travel history card that shows they didn't go to the medium and high risk areas, and other areas with reported COVID-19 cases over the past 14 days.

Those who have been to these areas over the past 14 days must report to their residential communities or host organizations before arriving in Hainan or within 12 hours after arrival.

People from high or medium risk areas are subject to a 14-day centralized quarantine and two free nucleic acid tests before a seven-day home-based health monitoring and the third nucleic acid test.

Those from areas with locally transmitted COVID-19 cases are required to present a negative nucleic acid test result taken within 48 hours. People without it should take a nucleic acid test upon arrival and one more test after 24 hours. Furthermore, they need to have their health conditions monitored for 14 days, starting from the day they left the areas with reported COVID-19 cases.

Locals should not travel to medium and high risk areas unless necessary. People with symptoms such as a fever or cough should seek immediate medical help at nearby medical institutions and report travel history and personal contacts with the proper COVID-19 authorities.
