China's island province of Hainan has further increased its global exposure, with its famous tourism resources and free trade port policies going on display at the world's leading travel trade show, ITB Berlin, which was hosted online from March 9 to 12.
Hainan's online promotion video at ITB Berlin outlined Hainan's advantages in many areas, including its geographical location, climate, environment and transportation.
It also briefed the audience on the investment promotion and preferential policies of Hainan Free Trade Port and promoted the tourism and culture of Hainan. High-end hotels, diverse ethnic cultures, rainforests, tourism complexes and outdoor sports were also highlighted in the video.
Hainan's tourism enterprises also strived to tap the European market throughout the four-day event. Kangtai Travel rolled out distinctive travel routes targeting tourists from Europe, and companies like Haiken Tourism Group negotiated cooperative agreements with several partners.
Moreover, Sanya tourism promotion bureau took the exhibition as an opportunity to explore cooperation with tourism-related companies like Kirov Travel in Russia, China Tour, and Mirae Ltd in South Korea, and promote the city's high-quality island tourism resources and visa-free policies.
As Europe has always been an important source of tourists for Hainan, through ITB Berlin, Hainan continuously strengthened its ties with the international tourism industry, further expanding the development potential of overseas markets, and showcasing the new image of Hainan FTP.
In the future, Hainan will attach importance to the development of the European market, explore the development of air and cruise passenger transfers, build an international transport hub, and strive to boost the construction of an international tourism consumption center.
