The 17th French Film Panorama launched by UniFrance started its week-long tour in Sanya, Hainan province on Dec 6, with the opening film Un Triomphe, which has been shortlisted for the official selection of the 2020 Cannes Film Festival.
Due to the in-depth cooperation between the 17th French Film Panorama and the 3rd Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF), which is being held in Sanya from Dec 5 to 12, French films are being screened in Sanya for the first time, allowing fans to enjoy more colorful films of France.
A total of eight excellent films will be screened, namely Un Triomphe, La vérité, La belle époque, Le sel des larmes, J'ai perdu mon corps, A l'abordage, Fête de famille, and Sibyl, showcasing the diversity of contemporary French movies with genres such as comedy, drama, and animated films covering social issues, family films, romance, women's issues, and other themes.
"This is my third visit to Hainan this year. I really like the beautiful coastal scenery. I hope I can come to Sanya more and I hope to build a bridge for cultural exchanges with the power of movies," said Zhou Lijun, French consul general in Guangzhou.
