The third Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) unveiled the 32 Official Recommendations of its Golden Coconut Awards on Dec 2, which are divided into the three categories of long feature films, documentaries, and short feature films, covering geres topics like science fiction, family films, sports, post-war films, and family dramas.
Among all the recommendations, 12 are feature films, with Love Song 1980 being the opening film of this year's HIIFF. Eight films are feature-length documentaries, while another 12 are short feature films spanning between five to 15 minutes.

From Dec 5 to 12, this year's HIIFF will screen 189 outstanding films selected from 4,376 film submissions from around the world, which will be presented to the public through five major sections, including Golden Coconut Official Recommendations, H!Future Newcomer Honorary Official Recommendations, Eight Screening Units, Beach Screenings, and Island Screenings.
The film festival has made new explorations and attempts in film selection and screening this year. The relevant person in charge of the Organizing Committee of HIIFF noted that the newly added "Golden Coconut Official Recommendations" and "H!Future Newcomer Honor Official Recommendations" not only showcase the professionalism and artistry of the film festival, but also offers more high-level excellent films to audiences.
Movie fans can purchase tickets in advance on online ticket sales platform Taopiaopiao to enjoy this growing film festival in December in Hainan.
