A delegation of 15 foreign chambers of commerce in China paid a visit to Hainan on Nov 25 to better learn about Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) policies and the province's distinctive industries, as well as to explore business opportunities.

The delegation, consisting of 20 members from the US, the UK, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Mexico, and the EU, was led by Gao Yan, who is the head of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).

During their three-day visit, the delegation members will participate in a symposium to promote Hainan FTP policies, take part in an investment opportunities and economic and trade cooperation exchange conference in Haikou, as well as have discussions with government departments from the cities of Haikou and Sanya.

The delegation will also visit Haikou Jiangdong New District, Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City, Sanya Central Business District, and other places to better understand the development of the tourism, modern service, and high-tech industries in Hainan, as well as to learn about the vision and plan of the Hainan FTP.

As a main component of the tour, the CCPIT Service Center for the Hainan FTP will be launched on Nov 26 in Haikou, as an effort of the CCPIT to upgrade its support to Hainan's reform and innovation, as well as the construction of the Hainan FTP.
