In the first three quarters of 2020, China's island province Hainan exported 122,000 tons of marine products worth 2.38 billion yuan ($360 million), a year-on-year increase of 15.1 percent and 3.7 percent respectively, according to statistics from Haikou Customs.

To better serve and support foreign trade enterprises, Haikou Customs has improved customs clearance, explored various service measures, set up a "green channel" for the exports of aquatic and seafood products, as well as launched convenient measures like the "declaration in advance, inspection on demand" and the "24-hour appointment inspection" mechanisms.

It has also helped enterprises learn about the rules of applying for the Certificate of Origin, as well as offered online services concerning government reviews and approvals. It also notified enterprises of overseas warnings and offered information about key overseas projects, as well as collected the needs and problems that enterprises encountered in the export process to help Hainan's aquatic products better access overseas markets.
