Hainan has made an important step towards building an international intellectual property (IP) trading venue and setting up standards to explore IP securitization following the start of operations of an international intellectual property exchange on Aug 28.
The exchange promotes the construction of an intellectual property transaction ecosystem. It has signed more than 60 strategic cooperation agreements with domestic and foreign companies and institutions on IP operations, protection, third-party services, data services, as well as securitization exploration.
In addition, it attempts to create intelligent big data products by integrating IP, finance, and commerce data to serve the exploration and innovation of IP securitization.
To date, the exchange has introduced more than 1,000 domestic and foreign IP rights, such as patents, trademarks, and copyrights, while more than 20 IP transaction deals have been reached.
