European companies have shown great interest in investing in the Hainan Free Trade Port after attending an online business presentation on June 18.

The video presentation was organized by the Hainan International Business Council and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China to introduce the preferential policies and investment opportunities at the Hainan Free Trade Port to European enterprises.

Representatives of more than 60 European companies, such as Volkswagen (China) Investment, TUV, L'Oreal Group, Schneider Electric China, Merck Group, KPMG China, and the Guangzhou branch of Siemens China, took part in the event.

At the promotion meeting, the person in charge of the Hainan International Business Council introduced the policies and investment opportunities of the Hainan Free Trade Port to the participating companies. Officials from various government departments in Hainan cities, counties, and industrial parks answered the questions raised by the companies in detail.

The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and its member companies pay close attention to the Overall Plan for the Construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port and hope to seize the opportunity to invest and enhance trade cooperation, said George Lau, president of the South China branch of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China.

The association will strive to establish communication channels and investment platforms for enterprises, and will continue to create a better investment environment for Chinese and European enterprises, Lau said.

"In the future, we hope to conduct in-depth exchanges and close cooperation with the Hainan International Business Council, discuss the provision of better services and the creation of a better business environment for member companies, as well as build an investment platform for member companies to tap the market in Hainan and promote the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port," Lau added.
