China's tropical island Hainan rolled out 20 measures recently to bolster its efforts on the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) during the upcoming five-day Labor Day holiday.
The measures mainly cover management of five aspects: the tourism industry, public transportation, the food and beverage industry, shopping, as well as the environment.
The five-day holiday starts on May 1 and the island province is preparing itself to welcome more tourists. According to Hainan Harbor and Shipping Holding, cars with other province's license plates and have less than seven seats are free to take the ferry to cross the sea during the holiday.
In order to meet the travel needs of passengers during the holiday, Hainan Roundabout High-speed Railway has adjusted its transportation capacity from April 30 to May 5 with six pairs of trains added per day and a maximum of 40 pairs of trains available every day.
In addition, the Hainan Roundabout High-Speed Railway Station will carry out daily disinfection of its ticketing halls, waiting halls, and other areas, as well as strengthen the frequency of disinfection in the stations and key areas of the train. During peak periods, temperature-taking channels for entry and exit will be added in a timely manner to ensure orderly temperature measurement, as well as the rapid entry and exit of passengers to reduce crowding.
