South China's Hainan province cured all its 162 hospitalized cases of COVID-19 and discharged the last patient from the Hainan General Hospital on March 24.
It has been 63 days since the first COVID-19 case was reported on the island province. During the two months, the virus caused six deaths on the island and more than 3000 across China.
Among the cured patients in Hainan, the oldest was 83 years old and the youngest three months. The first cured case was discharged from Sanya Central Hospital on Jan 29.
The province, which has a population of nearly 9.45 million, has seen no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection for 33 consecutive days.
