The first batch of epidemic prevention and control supplies donated by Russian news agency TASS, consisting of 47 boxes, arrived in Haikou on Feb 10.

While Hainan was in a critical period in its battle against the epidemic, the Russian news agency raised 92 boxes of epidemic prevention supplies, such as masks and protective clothing for Hainan. The first batch of donations include 24,000 masks and 877 one-piece virus-proof suits.

TASS is one of the world's five largest news agencies, and is the most renowned in the Russian-speaking region with the largest number of subscribers. It has signed an agreement on the promotion of cultural cooperation with Hainan, and the two sides have continuously deepened cooperation in cultural promotion, achieving fruitful results.

Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) in China, TASS has been paying close attention to the epidemic in Hainan and highlighting the province's prevention and control efforts through a series of reports published via different channels.

From Jan 22 to Feb 9, the Russian news agency published a total of 40 reports related to Hainan's epidemic prevention efforts, covering Hainan's support to Hubei province and services to expats in Hainan, which generated positive and extensive international impact.
