Eleven new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Hainan on Feb 6, with one of the patients classed as being in a serious condition and one death reported. Three patients were cured and discharged from hospital.
Three of the new cases were reported to be in the capital city of Haikou, two in Sanya, one in Danzhou, two in Wenchang, two in Chengmai and one in Changjiang.
The death was reported in Sanya, and the severe case in Lingao. The discharged cases were recorded in Haikou, Sanya and Chengmai.
As of Feb 6, a total of 111 novel coronavirus-infected cases had been confirmed in Hainan. Of these, 15 were severe cases, with two deaths and eight discharged cases recorded.
Among the confirmed cases, 19 were in Haikou, 32 in Sanya, 11 in Danzhou, three in Wenchang, six in Qionghai, 11 in Wanning, three in Dongfang, six in Chengmai, five in Lingao, four in Lingshui, one in Qiongzhong, three in Ding'an, four in Changjiang, one in Ledong and two in Baoting.
As of Feb 6, a total of 2,570 people who had close contact with infected patients had been traced. A total of 1,367 people were released from medical observation, while 1,203 are still under medical observation.
