Eleven new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Hainan on Feb 5, with four of the patients classed as being in a serious condition. Zero deaths and one discharged patient were reported, while one severe case was downgraded to mild.
Eight of the new cases were reported to be in Sanya, two in Danzhou, and one in Dongfan. Sanya, Wanning, Dongfang and Ding'an were each reported to have one new severe case respectively.
The discharged case and the downgraded case were both in Sanya.
As of Feb 5, a total of 100 novel coronavirus-infected cases had been confirmed in Hainan. Of these, 14 were severe cases, with one death and five discharged cases recorded.
Among the confirmed cases, 16 were in Haikou, 30 in Sanya, 10 in Danzhou, one in Wenchang, six in Qionghai, 11 in Wanning, three in Dongfang, four in Chengmai, five in Lingao, four in Lingshui, one in Qiongzhong, three in Ding'an, three in Changjiang, one in Ledong and two in Baoting.
As of Feb 5, a total of 2,198 people who had close contact with infected patients had been traced. A total of 1,183 people were released from medical observation, while 1,015 are still under medical observation.
