Eleven new cases of novel coronavirus infection and one discharged case were reported in Hainan on Feb 4.
Among the newly-added cases, one was classed as being in a serious condition but no deaths were recorded.
Four of the new cases were reported to be in Sanya, two in Haikou, two in Baoting, one in Dongfang, one in Lingao and one in Chengmai. The new severe case was in Dongfang.
As of Feb 4, 89 novel coronavirus-infected patients have been confirmed in Hainan. Of these, 11 were severe cases, with one death and five discharged cases recorded.
Among the confirmed cases, 16 were in Haikou, 22 in Sanya, eight in Danzhou, one in Wenchang, six in Qionghai, 11 in Wanning, two in Dongfang, four in Chengmai, five in Lingao, four in Lingshui, one in Qiongzhong, three in Ding'an, three in Changjiang, one in Ledong and two in Baoting.
As of Feb 4, a total of 2,042 people who had close contact with infected patients had been traced. A total of 988 people were released from medical observation, while 1,054 are still under medical observation.
