Nine new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in the southern island province of Hainan on Feb 3, with one of the patients classed as being in a serious condition. Zero death and zero discharge case was reported while one severe case was downgraded to mild.
Three of the new cases were reported to be in Wanning, two in Ding'an, one in Haikou, one in Sanya, one in Danzhou and one in Chengmai. The new severe case was in Danzhou.
As of Feb 3, 79 novel coronavirus-infected cases have been confirmed in Hainan. Of these, 10 were severe cases, with one death and four discharged cases recorded.
Among the confirmed cases, 14 were in Haikou, 18 in Sanya, eight in Danzhou, one in Wenchang, six in Qionghai, 11 in Wanning, one in Dongfang, three in Chengmai, four in Lingao, five in Lingshui, one in Qiongzhong, three in Ding'an, three in Changjiang and one in Ledong.
As of Feb 3, 1,893 people who had close contact with infected patients had been traced. A total of 863 people were released from medical observation, while 1,030 are still under medical observation.
