Hainan adds 7 novel coronavirus cases on Feb 2

Seven new cases of novel coronavirus infection were confirmed in the southern island province of Hainan on Feb 2, with one of the patients classed as being in a serious condition. No new deaths were reported, one severe case was downgraded to mild, and three new patients were cured and released from hospital.

Two of the new cases were reported to be in Haikou, one in Danzhou, one in Qionghai, one in Wenchang and two in Changjiang. The new severe case was in Wanning.

As of Feb 2, 70 novel coronavirus-infected cases have been confirmed in Hainan. Of these, 10 were severe cases, with one death and four discharged cases recorded.

Among the confirmed cases, 13 were in Haikou, 17 in Sanya, seven in Danzhou, six in Qionghai, eight in Wanning, one in Dongfang, two in Chengmai, four in Lin'gao, five in Lingshui, one in Qiongzhong, one in Ding'an, three in Changjiang, one in Ledong and one in Wenchang.

As of Feb 2, 1,736 people who had close contact with infected patients had been traced. A total of 666 people were released from medical observation, while 1,070 are still under medical observation.
