Six new infections of the coronavirus were confirmed in the southern island province of Hainan on Feb 1, of which one was in a serious condition. Zero death and zero discharge case was reported.
Two of the new cases were reported to be in Sanya, one in Qionghai, two in Lingshui, one in Lin'gao. The new severe case was in Sanya.
As of Feb 1, 63 novel coronavirus-infected cases were confirmed in Hainan, of which 10 were severe cases, with one death and one discharged case recorded.
Among the confirmed cases, 11 were in Haikou, 17 in Sanya, six in Danzhou, five in Qionghai, eight in Wanning, one in Dongfang, two in Chengmai, four in Lin'gao, five in Lingshui, one in Qiongzhong, one in Ding'an, one in Changjiang and one in Ledong.
As of Feb 1, 1,643 people that had close contact with infected patients had been traced. A total of 616 people were released from medical observation, while 1,027 are still under medical observation.
