Three new infections of the coronavirus were confirmed in the southern island province of Hainan on Jan 30, of which one was in a serious condition.
One of the new cases were reported to be in Qionghai, one in Ding'an and one in Changjiang.
As of Jan 30, 49 coronavirus-infected cases were confirmed in Hainan, of which eight were severe cases, with one death recorded and one discharged case.
Among the confirmed cases, nine were in Haikou, 14 in Sanya, five in Danzhou, four in Qionghai, eight in Wanning, one in Dongfang, two in Chengmai, one in Lingao, two in Lingshui, one in Qiongzhong, one in Ding'an and one in Changjiang.
As of Jan 30, 1,259 people that had close contact with infected patients had been traced. A hundred and ninety people were released from medical observation, while 1,069 are still under medical observation.
