The third session of the 7th Hainan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) concluded on Jan 19 in Haikou after discussions were had regarding all items on the agenda.
At the session, three overseas Chinese were invited to give their suggestions for the development of the island province. It was the first time that Hainan had invited overseas Chinese to attend the sessions of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the CPPCC.

The proposals from the three, who hailed from the UAE, Japan, and Australia, were expected to promote cooperation and reach mutually beneficial solutions between Hainan and the countries that they live in.
Hainan has more development advantages than Dubai, and its development prospects are very promising. I hope it will increase its efforts to learn from the development experience of Dubai's free trade port, said Fu Yongmei, one of the invitees and who has spent 20 years in the UAE.
