The third session of the 7th Hainan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opened on Jan 15 in Haikou, capital of Hainan province, with multiple proposals concerning international tourism consumption center construction, business environment improvements, and talent introduction highlighted.

The Hainan Provincial Committee of the CPPCC has launched a series of investigations and consultations on the construction of the Hainan Pilot Free Trade Pilot Zone (Port), according to Mao Wanchun, chairman of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the CPPCC. Many proposals that are helpful to solving key problems in Hainan were formulated, he added.

Highlighting the prominent issues that restrict the development of Hainan's key industrial parks, the 7th Hainan Provincial Committee of the CPPCC organized its members, experts and scholars, as well as business representatives to conduct in-depth investigations at the city, county, and grassroots levels. Subsequently, nearly 70 specific opinions and suggestions in 13 areas on topics like industrial park management mechanism innovation were put forward.

In 2019, the committee has done a good job in promoting Hainan in Hong Kong and Macao, as well as increasing the global exposure of the Hainan Pilot Free Trade Zone (Port) by organizing tours to Belt and Road countries.

It will concentrate on the "I Contribute to the Acceleration of Hainan Pilot Free Trade Port Construction" activity, pooling the wisdom and strength of all parties in enhancing the comprehensive deepening of Hainan's reform and opening-up in 2020, added Mao.
