When Hainan Airlines' Flight HU765 took off from Haikou Meilan International Airport on Dec 25, it marked the official launch of the direct air route linking Haikou with Russia's capital city Moscow.
The Haikou-Moscow route is flown with an Airbus A330, with one flight operated every Wednesday. The plane takes off from Haikou at 7:15 pm and lands in Moscow at 5:20 am the next day. The return Flight HU766 departs from Moscow at 7:20 am every Thursday and lands at the Haikou airport at 4:25 pm.
Moscow is a well-known international metropolis with many places of interest. It is the place where the historic Kremlin is located.
According to statistics, Haikou has opened 46 international and regional routes in 2019, linking itself with 35 cities in 20 countries and regions.
To date, Haikou Meilan International Airport has hosted more than 100,000 visa-free visitors from 59 countries, an increase of 37.7 percent year-on-year. A total of 31 visa-free routes have been opened, bringing tourists from 13 countries, including Russia, Japan, South Korea, and Italy, to Hainan province's capital city.
