The total deals of agricultural products at the 2019 China (Hainan) International Tropical Agricultural Products Winter Trade Fair reached 77.45 billion yuan ($11.06 billion), an increase of 213 million yuan over last year.
The trade fair kicked off in Haikou, the capital city of Hainan province on Dec 12 and concluded on Dec 16.
A total of 34 exhibition areas were set up, covering a total exhibition area of 80,000 square meters, with more than 2,700 enterprises from 32 countries and regions displaying over 20,000 types of agricultural products.
Forty one agricultural investment projects reached cooperation agreements at the fair, nine more than in 2018. The number of professional attendees to this year's fair was about 7,500, an increase of 500 over last year.
In addition, there were more than 570,000 ordinary visitors to the fair site by noon on Dec 16, 40,000 more than last year. Onsite sales reached 180 million yuan, equivalent to last year's total.
