Over 40 poets from both Taiwan and the Chinese mainland took part in a poetry gala in Haikou on Dec 3.

The special evening saw the integration of poem recitals with music, dance, and painting, reflecting the infinite charm and connection between poetry and other art forms.

Famous poets, including Ara Kimbo, also known as "the father of folk songs in Taiwan", Wang Jiaxin, Zhou Qingrong, and Ai Zi, were honored as the poet laureate at this year's event for their outstanding poetry and creative works, as well as their contributions to cross-Straits poetry and cultural exchanges.

During the five-day event, activities such as a poetry solicitation activity and an essay collection activity themed around Hainan and its beautiful culture will also be organized.
