Hainan tourism spotlighted at Kunming intl travel mart

Hainan's consumption businesses, travel routes, and tourism products were highlighted at the 2019 China International Travel Mart (CITM), which was held in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province, from Nov 15 to 17.

Hainan brought 20 enterprises and government departments to the event, spotlighting the province's great achievements in tourism and culture, its visa-free and duty-free policies, as well as its 13 tourism businesses, 10 thematic tourism routes, and 50 recommended tourism routes.

Founded in 1998, CITM has now become one of the largest and most influential tourism fairs in the Asia-Pacific region. Its 2019 edition saw the participation of representatives and exhibitors from 75 countries and regions, with nearly 4,000 booths established.

The three-day event also saw Hainan's participation in enhancing exchanges with travel agents from Switzerland and Germany, as well as with officials of the international agencies of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. A number of intent cooperation agreements were signed to promote global exchanges and cooperation in culture and tourism, as well as to attract more overseas tourists to Hainan.  

The Hainan delegation gave away more than 10,000 brochures and hosted over 30,000 visitors during the 2019 CITM.
