The Hainan Island International Book (Tourism) Fair is scheduled to open in Haitang Bay, Sanya from Nov 15 to 18, with over 60 activities treating visitors from the island and outside.
Major highlights of the four-day book fair include an international illustrator exhibition, an international children's picture book exhibition, and a lecture given by Shan Qixiang, former curator of the Palace Museum.
During the fair, artists, illustrators, and publishers from China, Germany, Norway, Russia, and other countries will gather together to share their creative ideas, talk about the stories behind their creations, as well as explore the similarities and differences of illustration art under different cultural contexts.
In addition, the organizers have also invited artists to tour West Island, which enjoys a great reputation for its beautiful scenery. The artists will visit the "floating library" on the island, and incorporate the beautiful West Island in their works.
