Over 80 chorus groups are set to gather in Haikou, capital of China's tropical island Hainan province, for the Second Hainan (21st Century Maritime Silk Road) Choir Festival, which will take place from Nov 18 to 24.
According to the event's organizing committee, 11 overseas chorus groups from countries and regions including Russia, Seychelles, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Austria, the United States, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Taiwan have been invited, and 36 groups from Hainan, as well as 37 from other Chinese provinces and cities will also take part in the festival.
The festival will include an opening ceremony, chorus competitions and chorus performances, lectures, a special concert of overseas choirs, as well as activities promoting chorus groups at campuses.
