A media delegation comprised of nine journalists from Russian media outlets, such as Rossiya Segodnya, the TASS, Pravda, and Trud, toured the Haikou Citizen and Visitor Center on October 29 to learn about the tropical city's development achievements and its convenient government services.

"While it is my first time to visit Haikou, I can feel that the city is full of vibrancy," said a reporter from TASS.

Through multimedia technologies, the delegation was shown the tremendous changes that Haikou has undertaken since the South China island province Hainan started its construction of the Hainan Special Economic Zone in 1988.

The Russian reporters were also intrigued by the smart government services and urban management platforms at the center, such as its 12345 hotline, which an official from the center explained handles consultation, complaints, and suggestions around the clock, striving to meet every demand of residents and visitors in a quick and highly efficient manner.

The group also learned that the center also has the ability to accept complaints in foreign languages, such as English, Japanese, and Korean, with plans to add Russian in its service languages next.

Themed around "Beautiful Hainan," the media group will help spread Hainan stories to Russia and the world through written articles, photos, and videos in print, online, and social media platforms.
