The first ANOC World Beach Games Qatar 2019 was held in Doha, capital of Qatar, from Oct 11 to 16 and Sanya, host city of the sixth Asian Beach Games, sent a delegation to study, inspect and learn from experiences at the event.
A total of 1,237 athletes from nearly 100 countries battled it out in 14 events during the six days, with 350 medals granted to winners.
Led by Zhou Jun, vice mayor of Sanya and deputy secretary general of the sixth Asian Beach Games organizing committee, the delegation toured the main venues of the games and learned about its venue construction, events organization, management, and design standards.
The delegation's itinerary also included a tour of the Edzan Hotel where the athletes stayed, as well as the athlete canteen and media center.
Sanya will learn from Doha and strive to organize an exemplary Asian Beach Games with Chinese characteristics and Hainan elements, while displaying the city's charm.
