A gala night featuring a variety of songs, dances, and other performances was held on Sept 28 in Haikou, Hainan to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Staged at the Hainan Center for Performing Arts, its was attended by Liu Cigui, Party secretary of Hainan province, Mao Wanchun, chairman of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, and Li Jun, vice Party secretary of Hainan.
More than 20 performances involving singing, dancing, poems, and painting were given, showcasing China's achievements over the past seven decades and Hainan's success in developing the Hainan Pilot Free Trade Zone (Port).
