A new shipping route linking Yangpu Port with the Guangdong cities of Dongguan and Zhanjiang was officially launched on Aug 31, following the departure of the cargo ship Huijin Bridge 719 for Humen Port.

The route is operated by Sinotrans South China and marks the company's first container shipping line in Yangpu Port.

"Many companies ship goods to and receive cargo from Guangzhou, so we opened this route to pave the way for enterprises. This is the first container shipping route we opened in Yangpu and in the future, we will consider opening more new ones to meet market demand," said Pang Huawen, an official from Sinotrans South China.

After several years of development, Yangpu Port has become an international transit port. As of July this year, it has opened 20 container liner routes, among which six are overseas routes linking Yangpu with cities such as Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, Singapore, and Sihanoukville in Cambodia.

"Enterprises settling in Yangpu cannot expand their businesses without logistics, and the construction of an international container hub port in the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor calls for dense shipping routes. In the future, we will continue to connect Yangpu with more ports through new shipping routes and contribute to the construction of Hainan Pilot Free Trade Zone (Port)," said a Yangpu Port staff member.
