The city of Sanya launched a tourism promotion center in New Delhi on Aug 23 to increase its exposure and influence in India.
More than 30 million Indian residents went on outbound travels in 2018, making up the second largest tourism source for Asian countries. Possessing great development potential, India has attracted many tourism countries and regions eager to tap into the Indian market. As a famous leisure destination in China, Sanya boasts unique natural resources and comprehensive tourist reception facilities, which are appealing to Indian tourists.

Krishna, head of the tourism promotion center, has 15 years of experience in outbound tourism and is at home in the Indian market, especially in terms of sales channel building. He said that the promotion center will develop market plans as soon as possible and launch targeted products with different market strategies for varied market segments. He also set a goal for the center of bringing 5,000 Indian tourists to Sanya in 2019-2020.
From Aug 23 to 25, the International Convention of the Wedding Fraternity 2019 (ICWF) was held at ITC Royal Bengal, Kolkata, with global wedding and tourism industry leaders gathering to discuss their vision, hopes, and achievements. The city of Sanya also launched a promotion seminar at the event to introduce the development of its tourism industry and attract more tourists from India.
