The city of Sanya in Hainan province started promoting itself to Europeans after the first of eight episodes of its promotion video series Discover Sanya began to be broadcast on the European pay television news network Euronews at the prime time of 20:51 on July 29.
Discover Sanya is a feature program jointly launched in 2019 by Euronews and the Sanya tourism, culture, radio, television and sports bureau. It is an experiential program with a Euronews reporter serving as show host. The program presents real Sanya tourism experiences to audiences from the perspective of the host, which is quite different from traditional travel promotion videos.
The program consists of eight episodes, with each episode being five minutes long. It showcases Sanya in a comprehensive way in terms of food, accommodation, tourism resources, transportation, shopping, entertainment, sustainable development, as well as the work and lives of expats in Sanya.
Euronews TV channels are the the only international channels that broadcast news 24 hours a day in nine different languages: English, French, German, Russian, Italian, Greek, Hungarian, Portuguese, and Spanish. The online network of the Euronews offer three additional languages, Persian, Arabic, and Turkish, in its news, covering 160 countries and regions around the world.
The feature program will be promoted on Euronews for half a year.
