BoBoYeah, a popular mascot of Hainan's tourism and culture, made a public appearance in Ximending, the most prosperous and bustling district in Taipei, causing a sensation.
The mascot showed up for an interactive activity aiming to "cure bad feelings" through hugs. Residents from Ximending also received special "flight tickets" from the mascot where they can write down their sorrows and bad feelings and BoBoYeah will take the bad things all away from them.

In addition, BoBoYeah also prepared special bags for the residents who hugged it, which contained Hainan-made coconut candies and other distinctive products of the South China province.
"BoBoYeah is the mascot for Hainan's official tourism culture. The image is full of vitality and shows a strong desire for curiosity, optimism, fun, and confidence," according to a person-in-charge of the activity who expressed hope to pass the province's happy lifestyle to the people of Taiwan through the mascot.
Taipei is the first stop of the BoBoYeah interactive event. In the future, the mascot will go global and showcase the happy life of Hainan in more innovative ways.
