The city of Sanya in Hainan province is recruiting volunteers for the Sixth Asian Beach Games, which is set to be held in the coastal city from Nov 28 to Dec 6 in 2020.
On July 25, a special ceremony was held in Sanya to mark the beginning of the recruitment of volunteers, with Vice Mayor Zhou Jun in attendance.
Zhou urged the executive committee to select a group of personnel who meet the requirements, are honest and trustworthy, as well as are healthy and skilled in volunteer services. He also emphasized the importance of enriching the training content, which not only includes information directly related to the Asian Beach Games, but also information on traditional Chinese culture, foreign language communication skills, and etiquette services. The vice mayor also suggested that innovative training methods, such as distance training and practical training, should be adopted.
According to insiders, over 4,000 volunteers will be recruited for four major categories: city image ambassadors, backbone volunteers, volunteers for events, and city volunteers.
